The community is invited to the county's 55th annual Veterans Day Tribute saluting military members of all eras and branches of service. In partnership with the Veterans Council of Hillsborough County, the ceremonial celebration will feature patriotic music, guest speakers, JROTCcolor guard and drill performers, and light refreshments. Following the ceremony, Hillsborough County leaders will dedicate the park’s brand new fitness trail stations donated by Armed Forces Families Foundation.
The day will also include the 2019 Operation: REVEILLE initiative. In conjunction with Tampa Hillsborough Homeless Initiative, Hillsborough County, and City of Tampa, the rapid-rehousing event honors 25 military Veterans in need of housing by presenting each Veteran with keys to their very own home on Veterans Day.
For the third year in a row, the Veterans Day National Committee of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has named Hillsborough County's Veterans Memorial Park & Rear Admiral LeRoy Collins, Jr. Veterans Museum to its official list of Regional Veterans Day Sites. Veterans Memorial Park & Museum will be open before and after the event. Admission is free, bleacher seating is available, and lawn chairs are also permitted.
